Detail Instructions
All tutorials can be accessed in one of two ways:
- Via a link in the summary section of associated help pages. There is not yet a tutorial for help pages which do not include such a link.
- Directly from the table of contents of the help system. You will see a tutorial icon, ,for any topic which has a tutorial. Just click on the icon to run the interactive tutorial for each topic.
Tutorials are interactive lessons, in the form of flash movies. You will be prompted to download flash player, if you don't already have it on your system, when you run them. Controlling tutorials is done in a standard way - see below for more detail.
All tutorials have several things in common, which make them easier to use:
- A playback control bar will show you the progress of your current tutorial and let you control the playback of the movie directly.
When you click on each button it will perform the following function:
- Rewind to the beginning of the current tutorial. This will let you start over from the beginning.
- Go back one step in the current movie. Sometimes you will need to pause before using this feature, as it can be hard to step back a frame while it is running.
- Start the movie playing, if it is paused.
- Pause the movie, if it is playing.
- Go forward one step in the current movie. This can be handy as a "fast forward" feature.
- Exit the current movie. This will completely close the tutorial movie, so you will need to start it again if you want to use it.
- Display information about the movie currently playing.
- Tutorials contain sound, but do not require sound to function properly, as all voice comments are also contained in text boxes that popup on the screen.
- Most tutorials will function in one of the two modes:
- Movie mode will show you how a screen will look while it is in use. You can use the controls to go forward and back through the tutorial, but the tutorial will play from beginning to end without any action on your part. Simply close the tutorial window when you are done with it.
- Interactive mode will sometimes pause for interaction. You won't be required to type anything, but will be instructed by the tutorial to click on a screen object to continue with the tutorial. This method is used for complex tutorials, with the lessons broken into smaller movies that are selected from the main lesson. If a tutorial seems to be stuck you can click anywhere on the tutorial window and you will get a message telling you your options to continue. You may use the movie control buttons to move forward and backwards within individual modules, but will need to follow the instructions in the tutorials to move between them.
- Tutorials link to each other the same way AdjustRite screens link to each other. For example you should click on the "Next" button to move forward to the next screen when creating an estimate. You will also click on the "Next" button in the tutorial to move from one interactive tutorial movie to the next.
