Salvage Buyer Maintenance

Summary

Salvage Buyers can be added and updated using this screen.

The Salvage Buyers entered here can be used when obtaining salvage bids. You can obtain bids without ever setting up salvage buyers, but setting salvage buyers up here can both save you time and help ensure you have accurate information for the salvage buyers you use on a regular basis.

 

Detail Instructions

You may add salvage buyer information directly on the Salvage Bids screen, but it can save time and improve accuracy if you maintain a list of salvage buyers and then select them when working on salvage bids instead of entering all the information for each salvage buyer for each separate salvage bid.

The following screen can be filled in when you are entering your total loss evaluations. Check the indicated box and all the information you enter on this screen will be saved for the Dealer.

You can add Dealers directly to your list of independent adjusters by selecting Maintenance from the drop-down menu

 

Use the Independent Adjuster Maintenance screen to add independent adjusters you will use on a regular basis or to change information for adjusters you have already saved. Once you have added an adjuster here you will be able to assign them to a claim by selecting them from a list.

 

The following fields can be maintained for each dealer entered into the system:

Name
Enter the name of the salvage buyer here. This field is required (you can't save a salvage buyer record without a name. The salvage buyer name will display on the salvage bid screen.
Phone
Enter the phone number in three sections. The program will automatically skip to the next section after you enter the numbers in the first section.
Contact
This is your primary contact at the salvage buyer.
Alternate Phone
You may enter an alternate phone number. This may be a mobile phone number, but any phone number may be entered here.
Address
Street address. This does not print on any reports at this time, but this is a handy place to save this information for the salvage buyer.
Fax
The fax number you have on file for this salvage buyer.
Address 2
Use this field if the salvage buyer has a suite number or some other secondary address information.
Email
The email address if VERY IMPORTANT for a salvage buyer. The email entered here will be used to email request to bid to the salvage buyer.
City
The name of the city where the salvage buyer is located.
 
State/Province
Select the state or province from the drop down list.
Federal Tax ID
This is for your own purposes, as the Federal Tax ID doesn't print on any reports.
Postal Code
Enter the U.S. Zip code or Canadian postal code. zip codes can be entered either with 5 digit or 5+4 digit formats.
 
Note
Enter any notes regarding this salvage buyer. These notes will not print on any reports.

Again, be sure to click on the button after entering a new salvage buyer or making changes to an existing dealer record. Any data entered, but not saved, will be lost.
